Ask any bride-to-be to name a wedding dress designer off the top of their head and they’ll probably respond with Vera Wang. While the designer is also known for her ready to wear collections, its her bridal designs for which she’s most lauded. From on-screen brides to real-life newlyweds, Wang’s designs continue to dominate the world of bridal fashion. In her own words, Wang is a “true modernist,” which is visible throughout her iconic creations. “Even when I do a traditional gown, I give it a modern twist. I go to the past for research. I need to know what came before so I can break the rules,” she’s said. It’s this foundation that makes her gowns so desirable to the contemporary bride. Each is imaginative, dramatic, and pushes the boundaries in terms of what we think when we hear the phrase wedding dress.

Just like seasons pasts, the Vera Wang Spring 2020 wedding dress collection is characterized by large, airy skirts, a unique use of color, and layered silhouettes. While Wang has previously debuted a mix of bold and muted hues during Bridal Fashion Week, she chose a largely pastel palette this season. Pale pink, spring green, and baby blue hues prevailed, although the designer did include moodier moments in the form of dusty mauve and chocolate brown looks. As for silhouettes, Wang showed them all—whether you love a ball gown or a sexy sheath, you’ll find what you’re looking for here.
